We had so much fun with Jean Power last year that we've asked her back again for three days of classes!
Jean Power is an award-winning jewellery designer, writer and teacher
based in London, England. She first began making jewellery in 2001,
having already spent many years painting as well as exploring different
aspects of fibre and textile arts. While she continues some of these
interests, beading, wirework and chainmaille are her main love and she
tries to use them in conjunction with her other interests.
Many of you may know that Jean is publishing her second book of geometric beading this year and she has just published Small Beads, Big Jewellery. Hopefully, we will have copies available for purchase soon.
I had the wonderful opportunity of taking one of Jean classes last year, and I can assure you that her teaching skills are first-rate! Her instructions are clear and concise and her manner is beyond pleasant and patient.
Jean's classes this June are:
Tila Geometrics
Friday, June 27
10:00am - 5:00pm
Want to add extra texture and interest to your beading? Want to bead
geometric with a difference? This advanced class uses geometric beading
to create two different projects: a bangle and a Tila star. This class
will introduce you to the basics of geometric with Tilas for the
projects as well as variations so you can experiment as much as desired.
The class is suitable for those who are beginners to geometrics as well
as those who have done some already as the use of the different shaped
beads adds a whole new dynamic. Advanced; must be experienced with peyote stitch. Class fee: $160 + HST
Geometric Suspensions
Saturday, June 28
10:00am - 5:00pm

intermediate to advanced class and if teaching these already has proven
anything - these are not beaded how you would think they are! The
projects use some secret tips which are essential for the structure to
successfully work and are endlessly variable once you know the basics. Intermediate to Advanced; must be experienced with peyote stitch. Class fee: $160 + HST
Triangle Rivolis
