I know that the weather people are warning us not to get too excited, it is still winter after all. But who can help themselves? It is sunny and sort of mild out and it conjures up images of springtime!
Springtime means a new wardrobe and a new wardrobe of course, means new accessories. What better way to get inspired then by taking a class or two.
We have a lot coming up in March. This Thursday March 4th and 11th is Metal Clay Rings with Heather Bell-Denison. This is a two week class that runs from 6 to 9pm each night. This is an intermediate level class.
Please note that the Charmed I'm Sure class scheduled for today has been re-scheduled for Monday March 8th. I will be changing it on the site as soon as I can.
Next weekend, on Saturday March 13th, we have a new class with Nadine Foskin, the Double Strand Dangle Bracelet. This class runs from 10 to 12pm.
Sunday March 14th is Robert Burton's Silver Beaded Wire Wrapped Bracelet and Earrings from 1 to 4pm. This is an intermediate level class.
Please note that Happy Hour Torching this Thursday is from 4 to 8pm as Dwyn is away. Please call and book your torch in advance.
A note regarding Kate McKinnon. As many of you have read on Kate's blog she will be here in May from the 17th to the 19th. I am working on the details now and hope to have everything up in the next week or so. Here is a brief look at what Kate is offering this spring at beadFX.
Sunday May 17th is Metal Clay for Lampworkers. Projects will include a variety of settings for handmade glass, handmade headpins, pendant bails, bead caps and even a treasure box for showcasing a special bead.
Monday May 18th is Metal Components and Findings. This class will focus on making components and findings out of metal clay. Projects will include clasps, links, beadcaps, and charms.
Tuesday May 19th is Mixed Stitches. Students will learn a variety of ways to combine Square Stitch and Right Angle Weave, and will receive full-‐color photographic instructions for both the Corset Stitch and the Mod Art Cuff. Kate will include many tips and tricks for finishing beadwork, maintaining even tension, changing thread and embellishing the final beaded fabric.
Hopefully, next week I will be able to blog all of the details for Kate's classes. Please note that students cannot register yet, but the dates are confirmed and definite, those interested can save the date!
Happy Beading!
