Big News!
Big news - really big. You have no idea how truly, immensely colossally big. I mean, ginormous. We're not just talking large here, but fantazimickally humongous!
After over a decade at our current location, having expanded three times, multiple renovations, re-designs, etc., etc., we are taking the plunge and ... beadFX is moving to a new location!
(Sadly - no, for those of you who have asked - it's not Winnipeg, Calgary, or Barrie - as lovely as those places are ... .)
We have found a new building - and we will be doubling the amount of space - which means (drumroll please!) room for a lot more great stuff!
The time frame is mid-January as currently planned - as we need to get the renovations to the new space completed - but rest assured - we will be keeping you posted every step of the way!
What does all this mean to YOU?
- If you purchase only online - not much. There will be a slight delay in shipping when we actually move from one location to the other - we will be doing our best to minimize this!
- If you shop in person - we'll keep you notified. The new address is not very far from our current location - and for some of you, will be easier to get to - as it is closer to a bus stop, and closer to the DVP. And we'll still have lots of free parking!
- If you take classes - oh, wait till you see the new classroom!
- If you rent lampworking studio time - well - there may be a slight interruption in availability as we get the new studio built. But we will be adding a metal smithing studio as well!
It's going to be FABULOUS!
OK - on to the actual new products this week!
Seedbeads - what mighty works from tiny seedbeads grow? Well - we have the beads to seed your creativity.
"Little drops of water, little grains of sand,
make the summer cottage, more than I can stand."
make the summer cottage, more than I can stand."
Like 'em big? Big and Beefy size 2/0. The monster truck of the seedbead world. The 15/0s can party inside the 2/0s.
Are Bugles something to trumpet about? Size #3 - 9 mm - Toho Bugles. I personally love looking at bugles - like shiny, glass logjams!
And, of course, more Toho 11/0s - because we WILL collect the whole set - and now we have the room to do it! (Happy dance!) You know, we wouldn't have needed a new place if Toho didn't keep adding new colours! Not that Toho is the only company guilty of that! (Yeah, Swarovski - I'm lookin' at you!)
And if we haven't suc-"seeded" in enticing you so far - how about we break through your stony silence with stone beads! Maybe whet your appetite with this Blue Apatite?
Can I offer you a Cappuccino - Cappuccino Jasper that is! Maybe garner some interest with some Garnets?
Turn your attention to some Tourmaline? Rise to the occasion with some Rose Quartz? Fire you up with some Fire Agate?
OR - how about this Labradorite - which is actually already strung into a necklace! We got a good price on them, and we were thinking that you could just take them apart for the beads, but the stringing job is not too bad in quality. Some of the stuff that is strung overseas - well, let's just say you wouldn't want to trust your beads to it, and let it go at that. However, I snagged one of these for myself and have worn it a number of times without incident - so - no guarantees - but they seemed not too bad. (Although - you can probably do better and be more creative!) But hey - whatever works!
Or - perhaps we can intrigue you with this Golden Malachite? I'm sure that this is a composite stone, along the lines of the Bronze-infused Purple Turquoise - however - the rich green with metallic patches, while it looks nothing like Malachite - is a very attractive stone. (Don't blame the name on me - I would have called it ... hmmm ... Celtic Lichenite. How's that sound? A rose by any other name ... . )
