November Classes

Coming up this week!

Open Beading night with the Dixon Chick - Thursday November 17th from 6 to 8pm
Beaded Chain

Do you have questions about a beading project? Are you looking for inspiration or creative input? Why not drop by an Open Beading Night at beadFX?!
Stephanie (and her sparkling personality!) will be in the classroom from about 6pm to 8pm most Thursdays to answer questions and give advice.
Calling in advance to reserve a seat is highly recommended.
Fees: Free!!!

Happy Hour Torching - Thursday November 17th from 5pm to 9pm
If you have recently taken a lampworking class or are a regular studio user, Happy Hour Torching is the perfect time for you to come by.
On Thursday evenings from 5pm to 9pm studio rental time is buy one hour get one free! That means two hours for the price of one. How great is that!
You must have lampworking experience, this is not a class or tutorial. This is an opportunity to get a bit of extra torch time at a great rate.
An experienced lampworker will be in the studio from about 7pm to 9pm every Thursday to answer questions and give advice if you get stuck or have a question.

Basic Bead Stringing with Marilyn Gardiner - Saturday November 19th from 10am to 12:30pm

Come and make yourself a single-strand bracelet and/or a necklace. Choose your favourite colours from a wide selection of beads.
Master the crimping tool! Learn about a variety of findings to help create a professional looking piece of jewellery.You will gain confidence for your next beadstore buying adventure!
Supplies: I will have bags and bags of beads of every colour: stone beads, glass beads, and metal beads. I'll also bring beading wire, crimps, crimp covers, wire protectors, jump rings and clasps. You'll also receive a handout on How to crimp.
Tools will be provided, but if you have your own, please bring them. We'll be using crimp pliers, cutters, chain nose pliers and flat nose pliers.
Skill Level: Introductory
Prerequisite: None
Class fee: $30.00 + HST. Payment due in advance.
Supplies Fee: $30.00 plus taxes

Create a Persian GSG Chain bracelet in Sterling Silver, or a necklace in copper. This weave is delightful to wear because it flows-and it is narrow (about 1 cm).
Follow step-by-step photos to learn the basics of this chain mail weave and how to work towards professional standards.

Technique Focus: Persian GSG chain pattern. Tool-using skills.

Skill Level:Beginner Plus, All Levels)
Price: $30.00 + GST. payment in advance required
Prerequisite: Experience making chains with jump rings
Kits Fee: $72 + (HST) for Sterling Silver Bracelet. $31 + (HST) for Copper Necklace.
The kit includes step-by-step, illustrated instructions, Sterling Silver or Copper jump rings and a toggle clasp. (Pendant not included).
There are sufficient rings for a 9 inch bracelet or a 22" necklace: all rings are saw-cut and polished.

Metal Clay Play Day with Jennifer Tough - Sunday November 20th from 11am to 4pm

Would you like to work on your metal clay projects in a fun, social and supportive environment? Join us during our periodic play days. We will provide access to basic tools and texture plates, but you are required to either bring or purchase your own Art Clay and supplies. You may also peruse our extensive library of videos and books during the day.  Kiln time will also be available for a nominal fee.
Note: This is not a class, and is intended only for those that already have some experience with metal clay.
Metal Clay Play Day runs all day from store open to close.
