Happiest of happy new years my friends!
Today is the first day of a new month, first day of a new year, first day of a new decade. Today is a day where everything is shiny and new, and we all do love shiny don't we? Last time we chatted I talked about doing an annual review, basically taking a snapshot of your current business or creative life. When you want to get somewhere it's important to know where you are starting from.
Let's talk about where you want to get to. What do you want to do in 2011? Pick up your favouite notebook and pen and spend half an hour just thinking of all the things you can do in a whole year. Ignore for now the how to part. Just answer this, in 12 months time, when you are sitting on that chair, what do you want to look back and see as your accomplishments? Is this the year you take your business from part-time to full-time? Is this the year you start your business? Is this the year to take that class you've talked about? Learn that technique? Buy that piece of equipment?
A year is 12 months, 52 weeks, 365 days. You can accomplish a lot in that amount of time. Somewhere in that time you can learn new skills, plant new dreams or grow a business. Especially if you plan for it.
Tell me, what do you want to do in 2011?
