There's a brand new book in store which is a MUST HAVE!!!
Easy Crystal Stitching, Sophisticated Jewelry
by
Nikia Angel
In "Easy Crystal Stitching, Sophisticated Jewelry," Nikia Angel uses several basic designs to create complex jewelry. Beaders stitch individual elements, such as circles, squares, or triangles that are not hard to make or require much time, and use them as building blocks to construct intricate and sophisticated-looking finished jewelry. Beaders will also learn how to stitch a bezel for a rivoli, create a bail for pendants, make a spiral rope, and stitch a toggle clasp. Stitching these circles, squares, and triangles together into necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and rings transforms small components into stunning showstoppers!
Nikia Angel has been beading for decades, in fact since she was a child, and obsessively since 1988. She is owner of BuytheKit.com and is constantly working to come up with new and innovative designs to share with her fellow beaders. Teaching since 1990, Nikia has instructed at many major bead and jewelry shows,as well as in bead stores, across the country. She enjoys sharing her passion and love for all things beady and inspiring students of all ages to share her love of jewelry making.
Our very own Pam Kearns was given permission by Nikia to teach Sparkly Wheels at beadFX. Below are some of Pam's Sparkly Wheels and some that were made by her students.
It is my goal to do every project in the book - and so far I have done the first two: Wreath Earrings and the Crystal Halo Pendant. If you love Swarovski crystal, you will love this book. You can also make all the projects in the book using fire polish - but you know how I love the bling!! When I told Lee that I was going to do all the projects and blog about them, she reminded me of the woman who cooked her way through Julia Child's cookbooks - and her story was made in to a movie.
Wonder if they'll make a movie and Nikia and I.....

I just bought it too! And am anxious to get started on the projects. I love the approach in this book, maybe we should have a week by week bead-along!
