It's April Already ...

It's April already - fully one third of 2012 has whizzed by already - and where did it go? Don't ask me - I'm still trying to catch up to February. We've had some lovely spring weather in some parts of the country - although as I write this - it is raining pitchforks and hammer handles and I swear I just saw a polar bear fly by in the wind. 

So - new month - time for a new stone of the month. This soft-denim-blue stone is Dumortierite - back by popular demand! If you are looking for a nice casual stone - in a soft blue - this handsome stone might just fit the bill. Metaphysically - Dumortierite (do-mor-TEER-ite) is the stone of patience and helps with organizational abilities. I should maybe get a desk made out of it - what do you think? 

But that's not the only new stone beads this week. We have some new Rose Quartz - in a soft and ethereal pink. 

If you like your Quartz crystal to be water clear - and you aren't afraid of big beads! - then check out these Humongous Ovoids in Rock Crystal Quartz. At 40 - 45 mm long and 30 mm deep - they are a substantial statement bead.

At the other end of the bead spectrum - we have Matte Black Onyx. With it's silky soft texture and dense, inky black - it is a stunning contrast to the Rock Crystal Quartz. 

If you want some colour - well you are going to have to make some choices. For instance - if you are partial to purple, you are going to have to choose between Bronze Infused Purple Turquoise or Dog Tooth Amethyst. 

If your bias is for blue, then you must decide (other than the Dumortierite above) between the Lapis Lazuli, the Sodalite, or even the Angelite.

And if green makes you giddy - then you will have to make the very tough choice between this Chrysocolla and this Malachite.

OK - I'm kidding - you don't have to choose. You can have one of everything (I did!). Oh, and these Chunky chunks of Pyrite too.

Save the dolphins!

A new thread for bead weaving and bead stitching. This is One-G - and is made by Toho. It is pre-treated with an anti-tangle / anti-fray treatment and stretches less than other bead threads. It comes in a dozen different colors.
