I'm gonna link you up - link you up with some stone links! These faceted stones, come already mounted in a lovely metal setting (somewhat channel-shaped, to better stay in place around the edge of the faceted stone - hence the name!). Some have a single loop at one end - we designate them at "pendants" and some have two loops, one at each end - we call those "links." Already, you can see the possibilities! You can hook them together - plain and simple, with jump rings, or get fancy and use them to accent a more elaborate design!
Some of these are natural stone, like the amethyst and rose quartz. Some, like the Teal Quartz and the Smoky Blue quartz are a quartz glass stone. They are pretty, durable, and reasonably priced. You might have seen the term "Hydro Quartz." This is it. These are the stones that mother nature just didn't get around to making - so humans have given her a hand with colour-enhanced stones. The addition of small amount of minerals to the stone gives it it's colour. You can dig up the planet looking for teal-coloured quartz - or you can melt some in a furnace and add minerals and elements to make custom colours!
Ooh - and lookie here - Gogo Pendants - we can't keep these in stock - this easy to toss on a leather cord and look fabulous shape flies out the door. These are "pressed turquoise" - turquoise scrap that is pressed and bonded together to make bigger pieces. Sort of like particle board - but way less ugly. Likewise, these Malachite/Azurite beads are similarly created. This process recycles pieces too small to use and so benefits everyone!
Oh hey - how about pears and apples made of glass? Juicy Fruit Salad mix! Remember to only eat from the red side ... .
We bead thinking about more seed beads - and here you go - more Toho 8/0s and Toho 11/0s in a new line of "Semi-glazed" colours.
If you are in town for the the Para Pan Am games and are twiddling your thumbs waiting for them to start and you need a sparkle fix, and want to come into the best bead store in all of Canada (IMHO) - and see all the new stuff in person, we are easy to drive to or transit to - and we have free parking! Map and directions here!
