It's September and We are Ready to Go!

It is truly the most wonderful day of the year!! I have been counting down the days, as you may know, and now that the first day of school has arrived I am ready to get down to business. Sorry the blog is late today, naturally my Internet has been out for most of the day.

We have a great class schedule for the fall! We have a bit of everything scheduled, so you are guaranteed to find the class that is right for you. We start off this week with Cindy Vroom's Basic Bead Stitching 101 Continued. This is a 4 week class, but students have the option of signing up for as many weeks as they would like. Students who register for all 4 weeks receive the discount price of $100.00.

Marilyn Gardiner also has two classes this weekend. Her Vertebrae Weave Bracelet from 10-1pm on Saturday September 12th

Marilyn is also offering an advanced level chain mail class from 2-5pm, her Dragon Scale Bracelet .

Amy Waldman-Smith is running a Glass Bead Making Weekend on September 12th and 13th. There is only one space left for this class.

Pam Kearns' I've Learned Peyote...Now What? is on Sunday September 13th from 1:30-4.

Next week Robert Burton's 3 week Wire Working and Wrapping 101 begins on Monday September 14th from 6-9pm. This class always fills really fast, early registration is recommended.

Suzanne Crudden's Metal Smithing 101 will also begin next Wednesday September 16th. This is an eight week class. The course will focus on cutting, filing, piercing, soldering and polishing using a variety of hand and rotary tools as well as a jeweler’s torch. Introductory projects, made of brass or copper, include a keychain fob or pendant and a simple band ring. You will then move on to create a sterling silver band ring with a bezel set cabochon.

We also have two guest instructors coming to Beadfx this fall. Michael David Sturlin will be at Beadfx for 2 classes Hand Crochet Chain and Quick Clasps and Findings. He will be here October 22nd to 25th. His classes are filling quickly.

Brent Graber will be at Beadfx in November. He will be offering 2 lampworking classes. The first on Tuesday November 10th and 11th and the second on November 13th and 14th. Class details will be available soon. Check the site or the blog for all of the details.

Happy Hour Torching continues this fall on Thursday nights from 5-9pm. Buy one hour and get one free! Dwyn is usually in the studio from 7 to 9pm and is available for questions. Don't forget to call the store and book your torch in advance.

If you are in the Kitchener-Waterloo area this weekend stop and visit us at the Knitters Fair, http://www.kwknittersguild.ca/. This is a great show especially if you are a knitter!

Happy Beading
