March into Spring withTerrific Classes

The coming of March it means that Spring is finally just around the corner! If you've been suffering from cabin fever, then break the monotony and come on out for a class or two and get those creative juices flowing again.

We have a number of NEW classes in the first half of March. Pauline Peskoff, a new instructor with BeadFX, is teaching a bracelet and earring set that is perfect for daytime wear or glammed up for evening wear. Metal enthusiasts will love Iris Rogers Melamed's updated spinner ring. Liz Reynolds is teaching a 2-day metal clay class using Hadar's Clay to create a new slider bracelet design. Cindy Goldrick is combining leather and rivets for a bracelet. Deborah Beesley is bringing us a new wire twisting project for an exciting and beautiful necklace! Last, but definitely not least, Chistine Woollacott is teaching a new cloisonne project.

Of course, we have lots of encore classes happening too in case you missed a chance to take them before.

March goes out like a Lion with fantastic classes

Did you know that the phrase 'March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb' dates back to the early 17th Century? I'm definitely ready for some milder weather, are you?

There is nothing lamb-like or mild about the late-March classes at BeadFX.

Of course, some of our instructors are presenting NEW classes including Angela Peace with a new Cavandoli project - Micro-Knotted Double Leaf Necklace. First Nations Instructor Naomi Smith is presenting a traditional Quillwork, Birch Bark and Beaded Pendant - the genuine porcupine quills are amazing! Wire artist Jane Doidge brings us Egyptian Spiral Links for a remarkable bracelet and necklace combination. Our own Kelly Garland will get you working with sheet copper to create a Copper Trinket Box. Lampworkers will be able to learn about sandblasting and altering the surface of their lampwork beads with bead artist Dwyn Tomlinson.

And yes, we have encore opportunities for previously presented classes! Students will learn how to use a long loom with Maria Rypan in her three-week Loom Series. Seedbeaders will learn all about the flat peyote stitch with Pamela Kearns. Roxann Bazetich-Ozols will take you through the basics of Right-Angle Weave (a.k.a. RAW) in a full-day class; and Amy Waldman-Smith's Intro to Lampworking Weekend, Part A, will get you started in creating your own glass beads. Plus, there are many more classes this session to get your creative juices running!

There are MORE classes in March!

Have you noticed that mornings are getting a little lighter and the evenings are getting a little later? Spring is coming! The British expression Mad as a March Hare reflects the giddiness of Spring Fever that we experience as the new season approaches. Learning a new skill or jewellery-making technique is a great way to focus some of that extra energy!

Saturday, March 15 is our Customer Appreciation event from 10:00am to 3:00pm.The day will include:

• Make and Take' projects
• Yummy refreshments 
• The first 10 customers (people with a purchase, in-store only) will receive a little something special.
• PLUS, all in-store customers with an in-store purchase of $75 or more, before tax, will have their names put in a draw for a $25 gift certificate

Reminder: Please don't leave class registrations to the last minute! Many instructors need to know how many students have signed up two or three days in advance so they can assemble the proper number of kits. If we don't know you are coming, a class could be cancelled!
