And we come to the end of November...

Scary....truly. It cannot be almost December - I'm just not ready.  :-)  Here though is a perfect opportunity to take a class, and make stuff for gifts. Save time, and do something for yourself!

Resin with Rosemary - Wednesday November 23rd from 6 to 9pm


Students will work with ICE RESIN® to create their own personal pieces of jewellery using either clipart or photographs or other inlcusions (like gemstones, crystals, pieces of metal etc).
In the class, students will learn and design a collage to set in a bezel, and cover with ICE RESIN® to create a glass-like dome. We will look at different objects that can be converted into bezels and have fun.

Price: $40 (+HST), payment in advance required
Supplies: All supplies including Resin & Clip art provided by instructor. Students will have to purchase their own bezels; they may also purchase other inclusions on the night of the class.
Bonus: 15% store discount applies on class night!
Need to Bring:Students may bring their own clipart, photos and scrapbooking supplies.


Open Beading Night - Thursday November 24th from 6 - 8pm
Do you have questions about a beading project? Are you looking for inspiration or creative input? Why not drop by an Open Beading Night at beadFX?!
Stephanie (and her sparkling personality!) will be in the classroom from about 6pm to 8pm most Thursdays to answer questions and give advice.
Calling in advance to reserve a seat is highly recommended.

Infinity Beaded Bead Earrings - Friday November 25th from 6pm to 9pm. Pam Kearns


Why buy gifts when you can create your own for the holidays, graduations, birthdays and more!
You'll find infinite uses for this beaded bead! Hang them on ear wires for quick earrings; link them together for bracelets and necklaces. Reminiscent of the X's and O's, pattern these are called 'infinity' beads because of the unending 'figure 8' that run around the beads. Students will create two pairs of earrings using either fire-polished glass beads or Swarovski crystals. Colour choices will be available.
Technique Focus:Stitching
Skill Level: Beginner

Flowering Branches with Nadine Foskin - Saturday, November 26th from 10am to 12:30 pm


Organic flowering branches sparkle with bursts of crystal blossoms and buds. You create floral clusters using a blend of pearl petals, fire polish beads, crystal sand leafy accents. You can adapt this design to become a necklace, hair ornament or pin. This class was presented at the Toronto Bead Society Fall fair and sold out.

Level:All Levels, Previous experience working with wire an asset.
Technique: Wire Twisting, Wire Wrapping
Class fee: $30.00 + HST. Payment due in advance.
Kit Fee: $30.00. Several colour options to choose from. Please note that kits may not be exactly as shown.

Introduction to Lampworking, 2 day Course with Amy Waldman-Smith 
Saturday November 26th 10am to 2:30pm     Sunday November 27th 11am to 3:30pm



Course Outline
This two-day weekend class is designed for beginners, covering all the same material as the 5-hour Introduction class. However, it handles each step in more depth and provides more practice time. Practice is an essential ingredient in working with glass. The class is eight hours of instruction and torch-time.
Topics covered include:
  1. Overview of the equipment and tools, basic safety information. Setting up a home studio is also discussed.
  2. Types of glass
  3. Making Glass Beads
The beads you make in class will be kiln-annealed and will be available for pick-up the following day. If you are from out of town, we are happy to mail them to you at no extra charge.
Skill Level: Beginner
Prerequisite: N/A
Technique:  How to make a basic round bead, dot beads, bumpy beads, stringers, shaped beads, encasing, florals, and other techniques as time permits, and depending on aptitude.
A few rules:
- Please wear cotton fabric clothing, long, tight-fitting sleeves, old jeans, and if you have long hair, please tie it back.
- Closed toed shoes are a studio requirement.
- If coffee makes your hands shake, you may want to refrain before the class.
- Students must be at least 18, in order to take this class.

Price: $300 (+HST), payment in advance required

Snake Knot and Phoenix Knot Cords with Angela Peace - Sunday November 27th from 11am to 2pm


This course will introduce you to the traditional art of Chinese cord making.
Learn to tie a snake knot, a phoenix knot, and a double connection knot. These knots can be tied to create unique colour coordinated cords for pendants, focals or beads.
How to incorporate these techniques into your jewelry designs, and accessories, will also be discussed.

Skill Level: Beginner
Prerequisite: None
Price: $45 (+HST), payment in advance required
Supplies: $12 Course kit includes printed instructions, practice cords and sufficient cord to make up to a 20inch snake or phoenix knot cord. Lots of colour choice to satisfy your creativity.
Bring your favourite pendant to class for that perfect colour match.
Stone pendants and kits will also be available for purchase.
