The Joy of Metal Clay

This week I worked on a bracelet made of metal clay and fine silver wire. The entire bracelet is of fine silver. It was made with fused fine silver wire to make some of the links (this both lightens the bracelet and reduces the amount of metal clay needed). Metal clay was used to make interlocking links, heart charms and the toggle pieces. It is not an inexpensive piece and used a total of 40 grams of silver (wire and metal clay combined).

Sometimes, I teach a class on making the links using copper as a less expensive option.
